About Global Studies Magnet Middle School

With over 24 years in education, Ed Lavoie has dedicated his career to helping students succeed both inside and outside the classroom. He has served as a teacher, mentor, interventionist, and administrator, including six years as Assistant Principal at East Hartford High School.

Mr. Lavoie believes that every student has a unique gift. By building meaningful relationships and getting to know students on a personal level, he fosters a caring and engaging Panther community where all students can thrive. With a focus on instilling Panther Pride, he works to empower students to improve their school community and prepare for future opportunities.

As a passionate basketball coach, Ed has guided his teams to impressive achievements, including a state finals appearance, while supporting players in reaching their goals both on and off the court. His unwavering commitment to education and student growth makes him a valued leader at Teachers’ Memorial Global Studies Magnet Middle School.
